Asked by SoSammy88 Feb 28, 2021 at 10:15 PM about the 2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car will not go past 30 miles or pass the 2
RPM it’s been at the Hyundai dealership since
December 20 2020 I have 126 k mileage in it
And I know that it’s covered under the
warranty and basically they’re waiting for a
new engine but they been giving me the same
story that they’re just waiting since December
20 . It doesn’t sound right But then again I
don’t know much about the auto repair
business. My car falls  under the recall 162
where Sounds like a constant knocking.Issues
with the connecting rods and bearings. my car
unable to go uphill. And when the service
engine light comes on after scanning the code
it says camshaft needs replacement but I was
told at the dealership that is wrong and that
my whole entire engine is needing
replacement . And no loaner car offered .I’ve
been without a car since December 20th.  The
service manager keeps telling me the same
thing this is waiting in process.they keep
telling me that they’re waiting for approval for
the new engine I don’t know anybody’s gone
through this process or this problem and I’m
hoping someone can help me Give me some
good advice what I should do or who I should
contact. It sucks sometimes being a girl not
having any help with Auto Repairs and
issues.I’ve never had to take my car in to
recall so I don’t know is this normal?
Is this typical protocol for For this long of a
wait for when major repair is required?Where
are the engine needs to get replaced I just I’m
trying to figure out what is the possible hidden
agenda .I haven’t even been quoted an out-
of-pocket repair amount to fix my car . which
is shocking and just adds to the frustration of
this extremely long wait . I’m hoping someone
has some suggestions .. insight,hope ,
anything .who can I even get a hold of to help
me with this if I can’t Get help at the
dealership

Wow this sounds kind of like my issue. I got my 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe @ around 119,000 miles on it, best newest car I've ever drove. 1 week later the check engine light came on, i took it to autozone to see what codes were going off and its the {P0019} (Crankshaft Position-Camshaft position Correlation- Bank 2 Sensor B) on there 3 times one as STORED, other PENDING, and 3rd one says PERMANENT! So I take it back to where i got it @ a Honda Dealership and was sent to the Hyundai Dealership here in Noblesville Indiana. Know BS I sat there for 6 + hours It had been like 3 four hours later a guy comes and tells me that they found codes pulled from the camshaft position. Found DTC P0019 stored as history. Found metal shavings on exhaust OCV Screen & that i was going to need a new Engine. I said no way I had just put 9 grand into making my dream truck my escalade like brand new. Auto shop said itd be worth keeping if i wanted to get it right then tells me after 9 grand i need a new engine, and now this new one ive had a week same thing. Told him bout this lil warranty i seen on there the WYNNS bs i paid for then hours later he comes back saying they cleaned the screen and reset.. Oil level ok at this time is what i was told and in notes. i didn't make it back to Anderson before light was back on, ive been there 3 other times after that n it be the same thing except for now im 2.5 qts low on oil everytime now but they clear my codes n send me on my way. now i have a new code P0175 Saying system too rich (Bank 2). My warranty is up in Oct. of this year or at 141,000 miles, are they stalling on me??? Now yesterday starting with the red steering wheel and exclamation mark, to the battery light on at first then every code in light started going off even the close by lights the hydraulic system every light came on i lost power steering barley could get off the road n park it then batter went completely. probably month before this i lost one of my smart keys, then i loose the 2nd one same night car goes down??? im a single mom of 4 with no family or friends y cant i trust a dealershipt or anyone to do the right thing. very disappointed
