Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hey guys, I need some buying advice.

I currently daily drive and track my NB Miata.

I'm on the search for a Prius C as a new daily and also do occasional
AutoX with it. But I'm looking in the used market.

I just wanted to know if there's any Prius C owners here that could tell me if
it's safe to buy a used '14 Prius C One with 34,000 miles on the odo? Also
what all do I need to look out for on buying on with that much mileage?

Lastly, do the Batteries need replacement eventually? If so, how many
miles will the Battery life last for, and how much would it be to replace? And
if buying it used, could I be capable of having warranty for the battery life?

Thank you!

I only see the service end! I Decided to dangerous to OWN or drive after reviewing first responder training! Battery cost 5k NIGHTMARE... Toyota battery warranty offers an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty in most states. In states that adopt California's emissions regulations, that rises to 10-years/150,000-miles. Seven hundred thousand 2010 to 2014 Toyota Prius models are among nearly a million Toyota vehicles to be recalled over electronic issues in the U.S. The Japanese automaker has advising the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it's to recall affected Prius models to rectify software in two of the Prius's electronic control units, one for the motor/generator and the other controlling the hybrid system. Toyota says the current settings could result in "higher thermal stress in certain transistors", potentially causing them to become damaged. If this occurs, the company says various warning lights may illuminate, and the vehicle would revert to a failsafe mode. In rare circumstances, it could shut down the hybrid system itself, "resulting in loss of power and the vehicle coming to a stop". TO MUCH TO POST REVIEW PRIUS ONLINE.

34,000 miles isn't that bad for a 2 year old car. It is a little above average, but nothing to be concerned about. The other poster apparently hates the Prius. I'm new to this site and every answer I've seen from him has been negative against the Prius. His facts on the battery warranty are correct. That will carry over from owner to owner. Every battery will need replacing at some point in their life. I did my 2006 at 235,000 miles. It only needed 2 cells ($40 each online). Relatively easy to do yourself with the help of YouTube. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, I've seen places offer to repair them for under $700. My 2006 is still running strong at 275,000 and my 2010 is approaching 100,000 with no problems so far.
