radiator fan not running properly

Asked by Lenore Jun 15, 2018 at 10:23 AM about the 2014 Nissan Sentra SV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Nissan Sentra SV suddenly started to run hot the other day when I was waiting in a long line to get gas; it not over-heat but got close to it. Once I was driving on the road it was fine. I did not have air conditioning on. How can I tell if it is the fan motor or the temp sensor?

Sounds like the same problem I have with my 2015 Pathfinder. Replacing the radiator fan assembly again for the 2nd time in 9 months. $600 part I get for $250 at Rockauto but still... $250 a year is crazy

There are many reasons of the sam symptoms of your car , first the thermostat may stuck close that’s means the coolant can’t get the path straight right away to the radiator in order to get cooled, Secondly you may check the radiator fan relay there might be a malfunction of it, On the other hand if you have a black smokes comes out of the exhaust during engine overheating it might be a defective heat sensor and it should be replaced cause it’s going to cost you a lot of gas consuming
