CVT

Asked by Guru532VR Feb 11, 2018 at 09:59 PM about the 2014 Nissan Sentra SL

Question type: General

Is it normal for a CVT to rev up before shifting into
high gear. RPM’s will sustain throughout “gears”
until shifting and then rev up about 500-1000
RPM’s. Car is a 2014 Nissan Sentra.

Normal for a Nissan CVT is to crap out early. I would go to your dealer.

Me too, this does not sound normal and there have been many problems with Nissan's CVT.

Thanks for the feedback. Still under the 6/60 power train warranty but with my luck it’s a module issue. You know the one they show you in the finance office that “could go bad” so go ahead and buy the extended warranty BS....
