Can I put 225/55/17 tires on my 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid?

No, those are a whole 3" smaller in diameter to the 2455519 size that is on your vehicle now. Stick with the OEM sizes to eliminate handling issues. You would need to mount a 17" rim on the vehicle to see it even clears the brake calipers and then size the tire to match the circumference of the 19" tires.
