2014 Dodge Caravan Won't Start.
For the second time in the last 18 months, I've gotten in my 2014 Dodge
Grand Caravan to start it, and it won't start. The first time it happened, the
van cranked for a second, then shut off, and displayed the red blinking
security light. At first I thought it might be my fob battery, so I had my wife
bring me the spare. Same result. I replace one of the fuses, and the
problem was solved! The problem is, I can't remember which fuse it was,
and none of the fuses now are showing any signs of being blown.
Yesterday morning when I went to start it, I get absolutely nothing except the
blinking red security light. Called AAA to jump the battery. They hooked it
up, and there was no change. Got towed to the repair shop, who put a
charge on the battery, and still nothing. No power to anything in the van.
There aren't even any changes to the interior lights when being jumped
(usually you will get some dim lights immediately on hooking up for a jump).
I've read that there are chronic issues with the TIPM in Chrysler/Dodge
vehicles in the 2011-2014 timeframe.
I'm thinking this might be the problem, and/or there is a wiring harness issue.
The van is parked outdoors near a retaining wall where small creatures have
been observed in the past.
Suggestions or clues, anyone?
