Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a multiple miss fire on a 2000 gmc safari. I
changed the cap and rotor with delco. Just
changed plugs and wires ,and still does it. It starts
but you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it
running.

this is no surprise to me i had a 1998 safari and during the night you take the dog house off on a damp day and its like one of those touch elctro plasma balls or the electric disco show. you can put new cables on and it won't make a difference. some things you can change that may help is making sure all the distributor system and coil is properly grounded. Pull it off clean it with some fine grade sand paper or a wire bristle brush where ever it is stouching or is screwed down. There is also a computer that is attached to the coil that some times can cause sparking issues once it gets old. replacing it if it looks corroded or old would not be a bad idea and its relativly cheap and can be done easy on your own. Some things that could help is plastic wire covers andthere is some type of electrical grease you can coat the wires in to reduce the amount of sparking from the wires. But i would say plastic casings and a bit of electrical tape to keep them tight and closed should help greatly its what i did with mine when i had it.
