No 3rd gear shifting, it shifts out of 2nd in to neutral.,.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When it shift to 3rd the rpms go up and doesn't want to
shift I let off the gas and it feels like it goes back into 2nd
then pulls normal but I feel like the rpms are high around
2200rpm at 50mph. Could it be a shift solenoid stuck or not
functioning or check ball stuck ?

Sounds like it's shifting into 3rd tho cause if it was still in second it would be around 4,000 to 5,000 rpm's. To me it sounds like it could be the shift solenoid that shifts from 2nd to 3rd.

It also goes into neutral though instead of shifting to 3rd.,.

Then i would definitely say shift solenoid but transmissions are not my thing. Here is a pic to what I think it is.
