How do I get my bed in the back of my vandura back into seat
Should be a handle under seat at back door.
I know the handle accessible from the rear must be fully to the right - last time I used a wire to make it stay fully to the right, then used brute force to pull the seat back up. We had a lot of trouble because my wife was sure the wider part was the seat back but actually it is the bottom of the seat. I remembered because I slept on that seat. Now I can’t get it to go flat to make a double bed again. It looks like bolts may have to be taken off but I don’t remember ever doing that.
I just cycled the bed up to a seat then down again. I sprayed silicone lubricant on various parts that had to move. Tied the handle to the right. To get it up to seat position, I kneeled on the floor in front of the bed, held the front lever fully left and pulled up on the front of the bed with my right hand (just the top part of the bed, no metal parts. Once it moved up a bit, it seemed easy to bend to a 90 degree angle from the narrow er part that becomes the seat back and then rotate the whole thing into a seat with back. To put it down into a bed, I worked from the back, lifting just the upper part of the bed to get a smaller angle between seat and back. Then it slid forward and flattened out to make the bed. Not bad for a 27 year old vehicle with 175 000 km. The front heater core failed at age 20, then the water pump two years later. Some problems with rear drum brakes seizing when cold. I still use it quite a bit, though we have 2 other vehicles. Delphi51 on RV.net
