Faulty oil pressure sensor on 06 chevy tahoe

Asked by Chrisnc5234 May 02, 2020 at 11:32 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The oil pressure gauge on my 06 Chevy Tahoe is faulty, and the indicator
swings wildly from 0 to 80, and the mechanic confirmed that my engine isn´t
at fault. Is there any way to just disconnect the sensor from the engine so the
bell doesn´t ring anymore? It seems easier than trying to get around the
engine and replace the oil pressure sensor.
