1984 Suburban 4x4 6.2L diesel

Asked by Jeff Jan 01, 2016 at 05:41 PM about the 1984 Chevrolet Suburban K20 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello from high in the Colorado Rockies. The
Suburban ALWAYS needs a spray or two of starter
fluid, then she starts and runs great. Once warm
after driving just a few miles, she will start without
need of starter fluid.

It has a factory block heater that I plug in when
she's in my 3 sided garage.

Just tired of having to buy and use the starter fluid.

I'm at 6,000 ft elevation, if that matters.

Check fuel pressure could be a dirty fuel filter or just change it I'm sure it's old there should be one on frame in line with fuel line
