check the codes the engine light should be on if other than idle control valve sticking closed to raise idle, or coolant temp. sensor is failed and not calling for more enrichment.

I had the same problem. After putting on fuel pump. Fuel filter and air control valve. I found out it was the distributor. So don't put money into it til I try the distributor.
