Tire size differential?

Question type: General

I have a 2001 Nissan pathfinder with
practically brand new size 225/70 R16
tires on it. I'm fixing to retire the pathfinder
becuz i recently purchased a 2015 Chevy
Equanox LS. The chevy needs tires
replaced & the tires on it are 225/65 R17
size. I was thinking of taking the Nissan
tires to walmart to get em off the rims &
putting the tires on my Chevy wheels/rims.
Will this work or naw? I know i gotta factor
in speed & gas milage differences but i
paid over $700 for them Nissan tires
before it started giving me transmission
issues & i wanna either use em or sale em.
Again, will the Nissan tires, not the rim
part, work on my Chevy Equanox?
