2015 chevy malibu overheating

car ran hot 5 days prior to this post, when I got to the car where my child pulled
of the reservoir was empty, filled with a whole jug of coolant, burped the system
got it up to temp and was fine. now 5 days later Childs car overheated again
when opened reservoir was empty again.. no obvious leaks anywhere I can
see. any ideas of what could be causing this

Gene answered about a year ago

Blown head gaskets, crack in the cylinder head. DIY kit at any parts store or a shop can run the test. Is there coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant? That is a sure sign if it that.
