Cooling temperatures

The light comes on periodically saying Cooling
pump needs service make sure it's running while
servicing my car is running between 174 and 181
is this normal

My guess is the engine running cold , I think the tempature should be around 195 to 205 degrees , Start by replacing the thermostat
