My car rpms has been jumping for the last
two weeks causing my car to jerk. Only
happens when coming off of a complete stop
or uphill. Can you explain why? No check
engine light, though.

This may be of no help, but I have had a couple cars ('98 Escort ZX2 and '67 Falcon) that expressed similar symptoms. I never had it diagnosed, but my suspicion was something to do with the automatic tranny. G'luck
