2015 Mazda Miata MX 5 Grand Touring brake switch problem

2015 Mazda Miata MX 5 Grand Touring: first hint of a problem-the brake
lights stayed on when the car was not running. Lifted the brake and the
lights went out. Second indication: cruise wouldn't engage and car shifted
weirdly-kept my foot under brake peddle and cruise worked and car ran
normally; brake switch malfunction light was on. Replaced brake switch-
ABS light and traction control light came on and cruise control engaged, but
would not disengage when brake is applied. Suggestions?

Boy, possible you don't have the brake light switch adjusted correctly? And I don't know why the ABS light would come on because of that. Really the fastest way to see what is going on with the ABS light is to have the vehicle scanned for ABS codes. That would tell you why the ABS light is on.
I'd am guessing on the brake light switch, that it may be faulty.
I replaced the brake light switch. The ABS and Traction Control lights now are on and the cruise control engages but won't disengage when the brake pedal is pressed. So...interchanging the old and new brake switches results in the ABS and Traction Control lights being on and the cruise engaging but not disengaging or no lights being on but the cruise control not working.
It would help to get the ABS codes read by a scanner.
