Low Oil Pressure warning on Jeep Cherokee Sport 2015

Asked by Guru9B1HYG Jun 21, 2021 at 07:31 AM about the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I dropped my Jeep Cherokee to the dealership to upgrade software. They
asked If I needed oil change but I was good at that point so I said no. Two
days later when I was driving on a highway the Low Oil Pressure warning
came on for few seconds, but  after it cleared. I stopped at the gas station,
got some synthetic oil, added some oil to the oil tank, and continued driving.
The warning didn't came back. I still decided to ask Toyota mechanics to take
a look at it. Did anyone has Low Oil Pressure problem before and how to fix
it? Thank you!

if you are low on oil you will get that warning too. Low oil pressure is usually caused by a problem with your oil pump.

I would replace the oil pressure sending unit. When the interior seal wears out oil passes through causing the light to come on. If you have oil on it that is the problem in my opinion and would relate to a loss of oil in the system.
