The Leaf does not come with a factory spare tire.  This is a major
consideration for me in purchasing.  I do not have much faith in the can of fix-
a-flat that is provided

ok- spares are mostly superfluous these days- unless you live in a construction zone with a lot of nails and screws in the road- modern tires don't go flat like they used to- and the leaf is not made for the highway, so you will most likely never be too far from home- and with AAA you won't have to engage in that most dangerous car activity, changing a flat on the shoulder- and how do you know the can won't work?- your question suggests that you anticipate being stuck in the desert a thousand miles from nowhere- which is not the case-

If it helps new Corvettes have no spare tire as well as Shelby GT- 500 and other higher end cars. Eliminating the spare reduces weight which help performance, economy or in the Leaf's case will let it go further on a charge. My advise is get a tire repair kit similar to what I posted above and keep a close eye on your tire pressures and you will be fine. I haven't had to put a spare tire on along the road side in many years.

Like bob said, get the repair kit if you want to feel better that you have it in case...

Both of my Leaf's have a hidden compartment in the trunk with an inflator and a bottle of fluid for flat tires.
