I have a 97 GMC and it won't start unless I spray ether in the hose Iin the front of the throttle body . When it starts it runs perfect.i have changed the fuel filter and a a Goodyear shop did a diagnostic to say that the fuel pump has 60psi.It will only start with the starter fluid but runs fine after. HELP

HELP! Ok i have a 96' GMC Suburban 5.7. trouble starting. 1)When i turn the key the wants to turn over but it is just flooding. 2) When i turn the key and pump the gas pedal it just flooding. 3)when i turn the key and hold the pedal to the floor(not pumping) it tries to turn but takes est. 10-15 seconds and starts. now once its started i can drive anywhere it seems. But when i turn it off same thing all over again to start it. in last 6months i put a new fuel pump and filter in it. someone said it is a cold cranking problem,but i can go out in the cold and hold the pedal to the floor,turn the key and after 10-15 sec of it trying to turn over it will start. just dont why it wont by just turning the key. 7 Answers

96 gmc suburban 1500. when i turn the key it tries to start but wont. if i hold the pedal turn the floor and turn the key it starts after 10-15 seconds. once started it will run but when i shut it off it has trouble starting again. i have new fuel pump and gas filter in it.i only run it a weekends in the summer for the beach and when it snows. Dashboard lights. I have a 1997 GMC Suburban 1500. My dashboard lights don.t come on unless I turn the headlaights on. I believe that they used to come on whenever the truck was running just as the daylight running ights do. When I asked the repair place to fix the dash lights they told me that they only came on when the headlights were turned on. As I have not driven my truck in a while I would like to know if I am remembering incorrectly of if I need to take my truck in and have the dashboard lights repaired so that they will come on when the engine is running. 2 Answers
