my 2001 ford escape wont start was running fine till i checked power

went out to check power steering fluid now under the hood on the left hand side their is a button that the hood closes on to i pushed that button                                                     a few times for no reason at all but now the car wont start if that button has anything to do with it not starting i dont know ran fine till i opened the hood
HELP

That button is for the theft system, it must have been dirty and you pushing on it now made a false connection telling the system that the vehicle is being stolen. Try working the switch up and down quickly and spray with a penetrating oil to clean,also have someone turn the key as you push on the switch.
