wont start

I havee  a 20001 ford escape ...drove it home and the next day it would not start ...replaced the battery and the starter .  The motor acts like it is locked up...??? Anyone have any idea ?

Hopefully it's not locked up. Start with fuses and relays, then check ALL wires and connections (make sure they are clean and tight) at the battery, starter and fuse box. When you replaced the starter did it have or come with shims? If you didn't use any the starter might be to close to the flex plate not allowing it to turn the engine over.
