What is the problem with HIDs on Challenger 392?

Asked by Plan B Feb 25, 2023 at 08:36 AM about the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My HIDs always go off (one each time). Take it to electricians, who play some
magic, and they work for a few weeks, then go off again. It is not a fuse issue. I
need someone who permanently fixed the problem. Bulbs and ballasts are okay
and even when they are replaced, the problem still exists or is solved for a few
weeks.

Most likely a bad ground. If the vehicle was involved in a collision you might never get it fixed correctly. Let your local Dodge Dealer try fixing it. They have access to things like wiring diagrams for your vehicle and service bulletins that might apply to your vehicle. Hope that helps! Jim

If you are using aftermarket hid and ballasts such as innovited or ..... Check connections from car to ballast for corrosion heat or discoloration on pins to ballast if present remove connection to ballast and use line taps (small blue or red blocks w push tab in center) leaving factory wiring original add grease inside where connection is to be made to prevent corrosion. Check headlight switch as well internal contacts can be month to month intermittent
