Having to repeat replacement on parts?

I have had to replace the thermostat three times, the coolant outlet 4 times and
the line that goes from the coolant reservoir to the top of the coolant outlet 3
times. 2015 LT 1.4L Turbo, 180,000 miles. Is this typical?

Sounds like pressure build up in the cooling system. Have you checked for blown head gasket?

When it first went out did the car shut down and go into a safety mode or anything.. mine did after I replaced the first one

Yes. I replaced my whole coolant and temp system, and two years later I got a hole in a hose and my coolant was empty after 5 minutes of driving. It’s a typical problem with cruzes.
