2015 Mazda3 Hatchback Noise Levels

I've found a great '15 Mazda hatch with 50k miles on it, and the one thing
holding me back from buying it outright is that it is *loud!* It feels loud going
anything over 35, and on the highway, I had to blast the audio (which otherwise
sounds great) to hear anything. The previous owner put on General G-Max
AS05 ultra high-performance tires, and I'm wondering how much of the noise
do you think is attributed to that?

So far, I'm considering:

(1) changing the tires to something like a grand-touring all-season
(2) having someone do a sound-deadening job on the car

Anyone have any advice or input?

Buy a car you like. You could spend many hundreds of dollars adding sound proofing (and a lot of weight). Changing tires may or may not make much of a difference. Read tire reviews on the Tire Rack to see what other owners say.
