Im considering buying a used 2014 or 2015 volvo XC 60 how costly is the
average service on this vehicle

I have mine serviced at a Bosch service centre. The cost is significantly lower than that of the Volvo dealership.

Please consider another make. This is our second Volvo XC 60. Our first was a 2010, and it had to have a major engine overhaul @ 60K miles, and continued to have excessive oil consumption between oil changes. We traded for an 2016 XC 60, and this one only goes 250 miles before it's down a quart. (This after payng $3,000 to the Dealer to change a PCV valve and some other things. (By comparison, our 2008 Ford F150 has 272K miles and doesn't use drop of oil with a 7,200 mile oild change interval). This is our LAST Volvo.
