I have a small screw in my 2015 Toyota Corolla S Plus tire. Do I have to replace the tire?

I took the car to the dealer and they stated that the entire tire had to be replaced because it couldn't be repaired. I don't understand how a small screw in a tire would make the tire useless. Is there a way to have it repaired or do I need to have it replaced? Thank you.

If the screw is in the sidewall, even down close to the tread, it is illegal to repair. If it's in the tread I think they are just trying to sell you a tire. Or don't have the tools for tire repair, dealers don't fix anything, they replace. Go to a tire shop and have it repaired
The screw is not on the sidewall. I will take it to a repair shop. Thanks for your advice and for saving me a couple hundred dollars.
Dig out all your paperwork, you may have a road-hazard warranty. Regardless, Toyota does not cover tires, the manufacturer does. I don't know about 2015 but Corollas used to come with Goodyear Eagle LS, that do have that. It will be separate from sales contract, but in there somewhere
