How to fix plastic piece that goes from my windshield to my hood.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A small piece of plastic came off that connects my windshield and the hood
of my car on the corner on the passenger side. It's somewhat triangular
shaped ( I took pictures) and need to know if this is something I can
replace myself (it seems easy enough) how and where can I purchase this
piece myself and is it imperative that it be fixed? I mean, would it be ok to
just let it go...it just seems cosmetic in my opinion but I don't know a whole
lot about cars...

It is easy to replace and more cosmetic that anything, but it will deflect some water. You would have to go to the dealer to order this item, you may even figure out a way to keep this in place.

Had this part come off on my car too but it's gone. Did you ever find the name or part number for it?

I bought my Corolla 2018 and the Cowl Extension was missing. I went to the Toyota dealership near my home and paid about $25 for the driver's side cover (left). Part Number: 5508402250

Mine popped off as well. Thank you all! I was worried I would have to get the whole cowl replaced.

Great job and thanks to all of you for your comments, from the first to the last. I found out that my driver side was missing this morning. I didn't know how to identify and buy it, and you just saved me. Thanks again.
