Actually this is just a question.  Not a repair issue for many years, hopefully.
What is the cost to replace the lithium battery pack once it wears out?

See - now that's brutal. Even once your re-coop the initial premium of a hybrid over a gas model via fuel savings - all it takes is this $$$ repair to destroy all those savings at the pump. If you plan on dumping the car before the battery pack warranty expires - then why'd you buy a hybrid to begin with? Or, even if you take your chances and keep it beyond that time and then dump it, do you really think someone will buy your car in its current state? Until the battery pack replacement expenses drastically decrease - I do not see a point to buying a hybrid. UNLESS you're a taxi driver putting on copious amount of mileage.
