2015 camy daytime lights

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 toyota camry. With the
headlights on auto, during the day both
lights work. Passenger and drivers
side. When it gets dark the drivers side
goes out. During the day I can cover
the sensor on the dash and in about 20
sec the light will go out. Fuses are fine
for the headlights.

Yes the brights work. If I turn the switch to daytime running lights both low beams work. On auto both lows work until it turns night time or o cover the sensor. Brights work on all settings.

Ok....low beam, sensor covered....is power making it to the inside of the light socket? How about outside of it?

If not, go to where it t's off from passenger headlight and trace back with multimeter to find the voltage drop

I don't have a volt meter to check it. 90% of my tools were stolen this time last year and I haven't replaced some stuff yet. I don't know if there is power to either side. The only checking I've been able to so are the fuses and relays. It only happens when the dash sensor is covered or at night time. During the day when light hits the sensor the headlight works fine. Even at night, I can turn the light on my phone on, put it over the sensor and both headlights work. Just my running lights turn off. I'm wondering if it has something to do with a running light somewhere.
