About how many miles can be driven?

It's not an exact science. You should probably not try to go farther than 15 - 20 miles unless you want to change running out. It is really better to add fuel when it reached 1/4 on the gage.
This varies by manufacturer and model of vehicle, but USUALLY.........it's about 10 to 15 miles or so. Best not to try and find out, unless you're carrying some extra gas with you.
Don't run your tank low like that unless you want to have your fuel pump go bad!
That's a really dumb idea, my ex BF used to always drive my car until it said 0 miles to empty. his luck ran out one night finally, but he screwed up my poor car trying to start it with no gas. Ever since then it sputters and sounds stupid like every 4th or 5th time I start my car.
FOR is right, if you want to run it low, simply DONT!! you will burn your pump out. Always keep your tank wet. The pressure you put on your pump, the better off you are
