Expedition won't start

I recently bought a 2001 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition. I stopped at
the store and when I tried to leave it wouldn't start. No crank, no click. I had
power, everything lit up but it didn't make any other sound. Called AAA and
they tried to jump it with no success. However, he did cross the starter poles
and it fired right up. The guy I bought it from said he put a new starter in 6
months ago. Would this be the starter not working or ignition switch or what?
Hoping for a relatively cheap easy fix.

there may be a relay for the starter . similar ones can be swapped to see if they're good or bad .
