Selling a car and receiving a check that I can not deposit for a few hours

Asked by Guru9HRBD3 Nov 23, 2021 at 11:58 PM about the 2015 Honda CR-V LX FWD

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I was told by CARG that somebody will show up to review my car and after
doing so I will have to give him the transferred title and the keys to the car.
After driving away with my car I would be left with a check that I can not
deposit for at least two hours and a Bill of Sale.
My question is why doesn't CarG give you a check you can deposit
immediately. I don't like just giving my car away and pray for the check that I
received to eventually be funded. I am indeed concerned about the check
not going thru. Can I blindly trust this company?

I would be very suspicious of that "offer"! Cargurus is an advertising site only. They don't buy or sell anything! Contact customer support at user_support@cargurus.com for more information about this before you move forward!! Hope that helps! Jim

Smells like a scam in action. Next time, hold the car and title until the check clears.
