Car came with 215/70/16 .  Can I put 215/60/16 on them as replacements

It will mount up and function. I don't know if this is for one tire or a set, but you don't want one odd tire size on your drive axle because it can mess up the gearing. And also you want to keep in mind that changing your tire size will give you an inaccurate reading on your speedometer.
