Charging problem

Asked by Donald May 26, 2016 at 05:11 PM about the 2001 Ford Expedition XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had to put in a new fuel pump. Then the
battery died. Replaced it and the alternator. It will
run for about 5 to 15 minutes until battery drains.
What is the problem?

Use a multimeter battery has a LARGE draw on it. It was fine before the fuel pump? Check the fuel pump circuit first for worn insulation on wiring harnesses. NEXT double check all connections and grounds at battery and alternator.. Check the approx 30amp FUSE for the alternator in the power distribution box. Regards
