All terrain tires

I have a 2015 Subaru impreza sport wagon with 17" rims. I
was wondering if I can install basic R15 rims with all terrain
tires for the winter season?  Has anyone done it before if
so can you please help.

You're both making this too hard...especially that "non-resonant length" nonsense. The non-Sport OE Imp wheels are 16", but even cheap 15" steel wheels fit...but use 195/65 to maintain OE height. 65's would be spongy handling, so I'd use 205/60 to maintain some meat on the road. But I'd prefer to use 16" alloys and chase OE 205/55-16 snows for all-purpose winter use. If you REALLY want aggressive studs for "all-terrain" then the 15" will work fine. Calibration error for ALL of these options is vanishingly small, btw, so relax and have fun.
