My battery light came on in my 2001 ford
expedition.. I had the battery checked and it
was a good battery so I changed my
alternator... I put a new alternator and belt on
and my battery light is still on.. And my battery
gauge is dropping... I'm lost at this point any
help would be helpful..

That's what I thought I tested it with a multimeter and it was pushing 11.69.. Took it back to auto zone and it passed the bench test..

11.69v is not enough to keep the battery charged! something is putting a drain on your electrical system. trouble shooting electrical is usually not for the DIY guy. All you need if you want to pursue it is a good volt meter and if possible a VOM. Good luck.

Thanx guys.. I swapped alternators again and still nothing... I gave it to my mechanic and he figured out I blew 3 fuses and a relay... Probably happened when I had to jump it to get it home.. I was trying to save a buck by doing it myself.. But it turned into something more then just an alternator... Thanx again

So Im confused. Having exact same problem. Replaced alt & thermostat. However before i replaced those....I did hav to get a jump so I could get home. So how ezactly did u fix it/ what was the problem in the end??

Having the same exact issue with my 04 Expedition replace the alternator fuses and relay also serpentine belt confused on what else to try battery light still comes on and gauge drops to zero
