1994 gmc jimmy front end noise

Driveing down the road in 4wd the front end will pop and
stop and then pop again and stop and then pop again but
does not pop in 2wd,i think its a bad hub but not sure.

could be an actuator that is going in and out of 4wd. and is not fully locking in. check for vacuum leaks, and your vacuum diaphragm under your battery to ensure it is working properly. if it is i would then remove your actuator while still leaving it connected to the vacuum place your vehicle in 4wd and make sure it is fully extending in and out. and if your actuator is working correctly the problem remains in the front differential.
