I have a 2015 Mini S with about 28,000 miles. Just lately, when I turn on the AC, there is a sour smell, kind of like vinegar. It only last for a couple of minutes but seems to be getting stronger.

There are several products which can help with this. Some as simple as using lysol/a disinfectant product on the cabin air intake and letting that kill off the goop. Some are more complicated where you hook up a product to the evaporator drain and it shoots some stuff up there to kill the goobs. I think the latter is probably the best option long term. After you've had the ac on and the cabin gets nice and cool there is a temperature and humidity difference between inside and out. Crack the windows a bit when you exit the vehicle to let the temperature imbalance even out more quickly. The fresh airflow will help to keep condensation down to a minimum and reduce the smell
