How to lock the trunk on a 2015 Chrysler 300

I have a new car that I just push a button and opens the trunk. I thought it opened only when I had the key fob nearby, but anyone can open it. It's never locked!

as long as your standing near the car with the fob. anyone can open it. walk further away, and it will be locked.

The trunk unlocks without a fob near. I leave the keys in the house and can open the trunk and my garage isn't attached to the house.

Hah.....I finally have the answer to this. I had the same dilemma, until I discovered that the trunk does NOT lock automatically upon shutting the lid, as I had originally assumed. The trunk can, indeed, be LOCKED by pressing the "lock" (padlock symbol) on the fob. Until this problem arose with my car, I just figured anyone could open my trunk at any time,......and they CAN, unless I press the "lock" symbol on my fob. Just learned this today!
