Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a slight problem and i am hoping that someone will be able to help me with. I was driving down the road the other day and my car would be driving fine....then all of a sudden the exclamaition point idiot light would come on and then the fuel cap light....and it would die out. I had an issue with the fuel pressure regulator before and i just replaced it. And its not the fuel cut off switch. Any idea what it would be?

i'm just gonna throw out some possible things to check here could there be a short in your fuses? make sure they are properly inserted. it could be a CPU problem, a branch fell on my friends focus at work and his ! light came on but it was just fine. is the car doing anything differently?

Did you happen to check the fuel cap? they're really touchy on the 2k 2k1 foci. YOu might need a new cap.
