94 GMC 350 TBI won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the intake gaskets put it back
together and now it won't start I try to turn
it over and it keeps popping out the
carb????

Do you mean you are getting a backfire out of the carb, if so sounds like your timing if off for some reason, did you touch anything else while working on the car ?

Check the timing and make sure all the spark plug wires go to the correct cylinders.

Check for vacuum leaks but I think you missed something on the timing. Did you get it 180 degrees off? Try static timing - put the #1 cylinder on TDC compression stroke and then set the distributor so that the rotor points to the #1 spark plug wire. This should get you close enough for the engine to start.
