Check engine light

My check engine light just came on this morning for the
first time. I bought this 2016 Ford Escape new July of
2016. I know I need an oil change now, what what’s the
issue with the check engine light?

Take it to a garage they will plug into there diagnostics machine and it will tell you why the light is on.
