That really depends on who is doing the certification. If it's a new car dealership, they usually cover about 200 items on their CPO check list, and are pretty reliable. But since "CPOs" became such a hot selling point, there are influx of 3rd party vendors offering them that aren't as reliable. Check the name of the company offering the CPO and contact them directly to get a feel for them.
