Go to auto zoo and get the code reader and find out what code it is , I'll put $10** on E-VAP . they clerk is a sales rep not a technician so you don't have to listen to them .

Since the light is on, that means there is a trouble code stored in the cars system. Scan the car with a OBDii Code scanner. Your mechanic can do it, you can purchase or borrow one, or have an auto part store scan it for you for free. Once you have the 4 digit codes you can decide on how to repair.
