Is a 2016 Ford F150 XL already wired to receive a backup camera and how will the display work? Will the radio display work for the image or should I get a camera with a mirror monitor.

Question type: Car Customization
I would like to add a backup camera, automatic headlight dimming, GPS etc. Is all of this possible without major wire additions on my 2016 F150 XL?

See your Ford dealership's parts department to see what is available through Ford. You probably should have purchased an XLT.
Bob, I had the same question as Panamera_2582. I asked my Ford dealership and they had no clue. I have searched the internet and found a Youtube video where someone installed the camera but their pickup had the required wiring under the bed at the tailgate. Others said theirs didn't. Not all of us were born with a silver spoon to be able to afford anything we want, as well as having limited access to other dealerships (I live in Alaska with not many options). I'm sure all answers are appreciated, however yours wasn't any help, at least to someone in my position.
These are factory options. Not something you can just plug in and drive away. Bob is correct, buy the truck with the options you want, it will be cheaper and better.
Yes you can add a lot of factory oem parts. U might have to get short legs of factory wire for plug and play. The main harness has wire u need from 2015- 2016 and from what I see. Some of the 2017 are partially wired on the main harness too. Some people can’t afford to but the truck with what they want and add it later. These trucks are computers. They all have the same thing. Just somethings are turned off on some and u have to login and turn it back on.
