Need to add oil too frequently in between scheduled oil changes

Asked by Jillsjeep Feb 15, 2019 at 01:42 PM about the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What is the problem that I am always needing to check my
oil monthly and add the oil before it's time for the
scheduled  oil change?

Lots of cars these days have the same problem. Some of this is due to the thin EPA oils used to gain 1/10 of a mpg on tests. What oil are you using and how often do you change it?

The warranty says 0W 20. The mechanic has me going in every 2000 miles. Thank you so much!

I would suggest trying 5W20 synthetic. You may see an improvement in oil consumption. 0 weight is a joke.
