WHAT ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH ENCORES?

Asked by Kim Aug 20, 2020 at 12:43 PM about the 2016 Buick Encore Leather FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What are the things that are usually problems with 2016 & newer Encores? I
won't buy one with the Start/Stop feature, so anything after mid 2017 I won't
purchase. I'm asking this not only as maintenance & repair but also as safety
precautions.

The issue I've been having with my 2016 Buick Encore, which I purchased in March 2017, is that the 'Service Brake Assist' light turns on sometimes, then just after driving it awhile, it disappears on its own. It usually happens after I put car in reverse to get out of house, or a spot. Then as I put it on park, the car feels like it's struggling to remain in park. Feels like it wants to take off. Scary to say the least. After I start driving awhile the 'Service Brake Assist' light turns on. SMH. Then sometimes just as I'm arriving at my destination, it magically goes away. Another problem is that it can be working just fine. I drive awhile, reach my destination. Then as I get back in vehile it doesn't want to start. I say a prayer then at the third try it turns on. I am getting ready to trade it in cuz I've had enought of this.

I took it to dealership where I purchased this 2016 Buick Encore which I discussed above. They were going to charge me $130 just to check it out. I gotta outta there pronto! SMH

I have so many issues with my 2016 Encore, I think I have had the loaner car longer then I've had my Encore. It is sad because I like the car but it keeps breaking down, sensors issues & emission warnings. I wanted to get rid of it it months ago, but here I am back with the loaner car and its in the shop. So very sad.
