The STI has 6 speed manual only. The wrx has a option for cvt, not enough time has been out there to really get a idea of long term reliability. It will be a little slower than the manual but most reviews so far like the cvt when in sport and sport sharp were it mimics a good dual clutch automatic transmission. Most true enthusiasts like myself see the cvt in a performance in car as the equalivent of losing your junk.
