Selling a 1973 Volkswagen

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am helping the daughter and sister of gellow that died in February of 2021
to sell a 1973 Volkswagen that he bought in 2018. The VW Bug was very
nice when he bought it. He was a retired engineer and he had big plans for
the Bug. He bought over $20000 of new parts for the Bug including a brand
new engine and then most everything one could think on from a disc brake
set up to new upholstery etc and n etc. 18 pages of parts that I have
itemized. We would like to sell the Bug and the parts as one deal. How best
to do this? Thanks

I'd suggest selling it on Hemmings Motor News or a vintage Bug site. Be sure to list the extra parts that come with the car. One word of caution, don't expect to get what the person paid for the parts even though they're brand new in the boxes. That's just the downside of a vintage car. Hope that helps! Jim

Cars that are boxes of parts will fetch a very low price. No one knows if the parts are any good or even the right parts for the car. If you want a good price at least get the engine running and the car driving even if it is not complete. My guess is you will be lucky to get 5 grand for it.
